Those Warner Bros. cartoons are absolutely timeless masterpieces. My kids will also be watching them over whatever derivative crud passes for kids' TV today.

I'm living in a house with a 3 year old right now and holy shit, kids shows are so horrible now, just totally inane bullshit. What happened to old Sesame Street, 3-2-1 Contact, Square One TV, Mister Rogers, Reading Rainbow? Current Sesame Street isn't nearly as engaging, more singalong and less dialogue, and a lot of the art is hastily drawn cheap cg instead of the stop motion and real animation from when I was a kid. Reading Rainbow was an amazing show that has no current equivalent, same with 321 contact or square one tv.

It makes the little nerd in me sad =(

Never again is what you swore the time before.

Few shows today come close. It's sad and frustrating that I have to whip up the classics on YouTube for my midgets.

I used to watch him in, oh, kindergarten as I would get ready for school.

Captain Kangaroo saw me into adulthood; the good Captain, and his sidekick, Mr. Greenjeans. I still tell an occasional rude person, "Captain Kangaroo says, 'The Magic word is Please.'" Followed by, "And thank you(s) are nice too!"

I'm often met with blank looks.

*snicker* I don't really remember anything about Captain Kangaroo, except that I would get so caught up in watching that I had a tendency to run late for school. That's an awesome response to rudeness, though! *grin*

Captain Kangaroo wasn't on anymore when I was a kid, but my mom had taped episodes from when it was on for my brothers. She wouldn't let me watch TV in the morning because I'd get so sucked into it. I cried when I heard he died. :(

Yall missed out on Playschool!

One presenter was on from 1969-1999. It was supposed to be one of the most difficult jobs in tv, to be able to treat the camera as a child audience in an unpatronising way.

I miss the old Sesame St funk themes sung by the Pointer Sisters. More catchy and defined than the onslaught of bland rap memes they tried to peddle later.

I vaguely remember Captain Kangaroo... the thing I remember most is an episode where they sung little bunny foo foo. Hah, ironic one of my nicknames is Fufu.

That requires some privacy features that aren't available yet. ;)

The site updates have been quiet as some work is being done, so I have no ETAs for anything right now.

In the mail in the spam folder. Could you put a [Delete All Spam] button that will empty that folder?

Thanks,
